The food and the service as well as the atmosphere are the best I've seen in a long time! Very happy
Great Panini! Can't wait to try more of the items on the menu.
Tried this restaurant last week, one of us got the eggplant, two had the lasagna. The eggplant I was told was good but, the portion was very small and, you got nothing but the lasagna, the lasagna should have been listed as cheese lasagna, if there was any meat I couldn't find it, nor was there any red sauce to be found. You got bread with these meals, salad would be $7. for a small one, the bread looked home made but, NO taste, we only ate it because there was little else to eat without running up a large bill. We had water, (small glass) all our glasses were dry through most of the meal, only one couple at another table, nobody refilled our glasses. The waiter (might have been the owner, wore low cut jeans and a short shirt, every time he reached across a table we get a 4" butt crack show. We left disappointed and hungry, we won't be back.
I lived in Italy for 5 years and every Italian restaurant I've been to just didn't feel authentic. Then I went to People. It truly is authentic Italian from the decor, the waiters the food, and the menu. I ate well spoke in Italian and had a wonderful time, felt like I was back in Italy. Will be back and bring a hot date (my wife). All I can say is delizioso!
Delicious, authentic, unique, homemade, awesome!!
People made a large table feel very welcome. They got food out in a timely manner and when one person's order ended up "black" they brought out a bruscetta to be sure we didn't sit without food while others ate. Everyone raved about the lasagna.
Well, if you want to wait 30 minutes at a table and never get a server. Then the server that kept saying 5 more minutes but was ready to serve the group that came in after us. Pouring them wine as we walked out the door. The bread was good and was hoping to eat authentic Italian food but service was unacceptable. Definitely will never try if ever in area again.
Amazing experience! I was celebrating birthday today with my family and everything was perfect! Excellent service and delicious food. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.
Great ambience, amazing food and terrific service. Highly recommend for all.
Wonderful Italian Restaurant with delicious authentic food. Service is spot on, run by family members who do not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere in a former house converted to a restaurant with classy decorations. Outdoor seating is also available for a warm evening. Have been here twice in a week and will definitely be back soon.
Loved it. Marc was charming and fun.
Believe! We're big fans of the hidden gem in Palmetto. Clean, great service & menu is reasonably priced. Would recommend to any one.
3rd time back. We are never let down. Food is always great. Server are very friendly and attentive. Love this place.
Been passing by it for two years after work. After fighting the so call 5 o'clock rush hour I was getting pretty hungry. So I desided to give it a shot. Bellissimo!! Fantastic!! I had the lasagna. It was delightful. The atmosphere was very comfortable a little loud when a party of 25 women came in but other than that I enjoy myself and the food very much. Was so tickled I drew a picture and they handed over the cash register. Of how I imagine what Venice Italy but look like. All was very good-a!! :-)
Excellent food! Husband had beef ravioli and I had tortellini in a cream sauce. Really good.
Best coffee, fast service, wonderful staff. I will be coming here again and again. Their tortellini with asparagus and home made bread was fantastic. Also, their pear and chocolate cake was worth every bite.
Average food. First glass of wine tasted a bit like vinegar. Was replaced with much better one. Prices are affordable. Nice decor.
From the moment we arrived it was a first class experience. The food is exceptional and the people even better! So accommodating and welcoming. We will definitely make it a regular dining stop.
Great Service. WE LOVE YOU STEFANO! Visiting family in Longboat Key and stopped here a few days ago when we arrived. We had a wonderful experience and it has continued to serve as a great memory for our family. Stefano is the man!
I had been hoping for better. Got off to a bad start with lousy bread served cold and stale. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti and marinara sauce. I didn't care for the sauce, too bland. My mushroom ravioli and cream sauce was excellent. We shared the tiramisu. It wasn't the traditional but made with strawberries and was very good. We will go back to try the pizza. Service was fine. But..... they need to fix the bread!!
Amazing gem.. authentic Italian food, great service and atmosphere. Our first time there tonight and we will be returning. Fish was delicious, caprese salad just the way I like..simple... not overwhelmed with any other flavors .. great wine variety at affordable prices. Hot chocolate cake desert divine!
Authentic Italian food PROBABLY because the owners are from Italy. Go figure. Love the Italian pizza. Not what you would expect, but definitely what I miss from Italy. Highly recommend. A typical authentic Italian Restaurant.
Had an amazing dinner at the new Itialian restaurant called People. It is so rare for me to add nothing to my meal(Salt etc...). The food was prepared perfectly and with such amazing flavor. The owner was warm and inviting, I am looking forward to returning very soon.
Great pizza, and the meatball appetizer was like stealing them fresh out of Grandma's simmering pot! Great team-based service. If you haven't tried People yet, you are missing out on great Italian.
Fantastic food. Great sauce. Good prices. Love it. I will be coming back
This is a true Italian Resturant. The staff is spot on and go out of their way to make sure everything is great. Food is delicious and good quantity. Price is fair and the atmosphere is nostalgic. Pedro was our server and did a great job and made it fun. Dont miss this place.
Great food!!! Restaurant is very quaint & clean. Price is on high end. Pizza was amazing & salads- excellent! Staff was very friendly. Only reason for 4 stars was price. We'll definitely go back!
Nice local place, very friendly staff and good menu options. Outdoor seating available too.
Went last night (Friday night) date night with the wife. We were excited for good Italian food, and thought we’d give this restaurant a try. First they seated us at a table next to a column with a reserved sign. The bread had ants in it, which wasn’t noticed until halfway through. Then came the calamari. As we were eating we noticed the ceiling dripping water into our food. (Must’ve been the reason for the reserved sign) We asked for a new table and were given one. Main course came without a hitch, aside from my having to repeatedly request another beer. (Waiter forgot)(they were not overly busy in my opinion). After our meal we waited and waited until eventually I had to get up and get my own bill, in order to pay and leave. (Waiter was too busy with his one other table)
We asked for three meatball subs with no cheese. Gentleman at the front desk spoke little English. What we got was three boxes with three meatballs each. NOT what we wanted. Gentleman insisted we ordered three orders of meatballs and that they don’t have meatball subs on the menu... obviously that was not discussed when we ordered and paid! RUDE and unprofessional on the phone when we called to complain. Condescending to boot.
No waiting here, reservations are a must. Excellent experience here. The service was very nice. Food was delicious, authentic Italian flavors: good simple food. But, pricy, still worth the visit.
Everything is made fresh & the place is so cute & service was super too!
Lovely little restaurant. Nice, upscale decor. Servers are Italians complete with broken English! Delicious food.
Nice atmosphere the food is good and the owners are from Italy
Cute place and nice for couples. Home-made tasting sauces and fresh ingredients. Chicken parmigiana was good with a sweet sauce, but pounded a bit too thin and served with a small side of spaghetti in pomodoro. Pork with the mushroom cream sauce was good as well, served with boiled potatoes and a garnish of spinach and ribboned carrots. Bruschetta was lacking in flavor, it had no balsamic reduction on it which really adds to the visual and flavor appeal. Tiramisu was nice, home-made and had a nice cream. A bit heavy in the cocoa powder, that first bite was a cougher. No liquor license means only wine and beer which isn't an issue for most. Overall, not my favorite Italian restaurant I have had, but I enjoy a family-owned business and the atmosphere isn't bad. Worth a shot for a date or double-date... once.
Menu creative and the food was really good. Service was just terrible.
Great food and the service was ok
But very sad, they were closed for good when we went the other day :(
Very nice. Mesmerizing ambiance
Waited for 15 mins to be seated and when they tried to seat us they wanted to put us outside with the noisy smelly traffic. I would of gladly waited for an interior table but none was even offered.
We had a good experience here. The food is very good and tasty. The bread is home made and they bring extra. The marinara sauce very good and the pizza is good for sharing. The service was fast and nice and the restaurant has a very relax vibe.
Great service and delicious pizza!
Loved it! All eight of us enjoyed the food and quaint atmosphere. Ordered and loved the lasagna, spaghetti, salmon salad and four various pizzas.
Ordered the vegetarian pizza which , per the menu, comes with eggplant, zucchini, and peppers. I couldn't believe when it arrived it had green beans, carrots and cauliflower on it (no eggplant, zuc or peppers). It appeared to be from a frozen veggie mix. They said the chef decides what vegetables to use. Ridiculous. Not to mention the waiter didn't understand English. We told them we didn't want the pizza and they tried to charge us anyway. They finally took it off the bill when we got loud with them. It was the at the end of the night and I believe they just threw whatever they had laying around on it. Would never go back again.
Unique, quaint setting. Great service. Food was very good. Had half a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was one of the best that I've tasted. Look forward to trying more.
Former home converted into an Italian restaurant. Food was excellently prepared and served piping hot. Wonderful pizzas. Spaghetti Bolognese also great. Hosts and servers were attentive and friendly. Recommended for lunch and dinner, though there might be a wait at dinner time.
They had all the doors and windows open and it was like 85 outside. We were 1 of 3 parties in the place and it took 20 minutes to come over and give us water. They either didn't have or didn't ask if we wanted something different. I ordered an appetizer and the waiter never put it in. Food took forever to come out. My lasagna as well as my friends was cold in the middle. The flavor was equal to chef boy are d.
While the food itself was fine, it didn't earn the price point. The service was pretty friendly and the place was pretty clean, so I'd like to give it another chance.
Friendly service from Russ and tasty food. The wine is a good value and the setting is relaxed. Would return on a future trip to FL.
Friendly Family owned restaurant with interesting menu
